We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The Opportunity

At EY Consulting, we are building a better working world by transforming businesses through the power of people, technology and innovation. Our clients operate in a world where achieving and sustaining performance is more complex than ever, and our Transformation Architecture and Delivery practice helps them turn strategy into measurable outcomes through disciplined program governance, business design and execution.

As an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program Management Senior Manager, you will help Power & Utilities clients plan and deliver large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure transformations. These programs span meter data management, head‑end systems, multi‑manufacturer meters, field deployment, vendor orchestration, organizational readiness and business process change across the utility enterprise.

This role will serve as a senior leader across both pursuit and delivery. You will shape AMI program management opportunities, lead flagship engagements, build trusted relationships with senior utility stakeholders and guide multi‑workstream teams across PMO, organizational change management, business process design, field deployment, quality management and benefits realization.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will lead complex AMI pursuits and delivery engagements with a focus on quality, risk management, client service, commercial discipline and measurable outcomes.

  • Lead AMI program management pursuits, including client strategy, solution development, pricing, proposals, orals and internal approvals.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior utility stakeholders and represent the practice in governance forums, executive briefings and pursuit discussions.
  • Guide AMI program delivery across planning, mobilization, business process design, requirements, organizational readiness, field deployment, testing and operationalization.
  • Stand up and operate integrated PMOs, including governance, planning, RAID and dependency management, change control, vendor coordination and executive reporting.
  • Manage large, multi‑workstream teams and fixed‑fee engagement economics, including scope, staffing, deliverable acceptance, change orders, risks and quality.
  • Develop AMI delivery methods, reusable assets and team capability while coaching workstream leads and supporting a high‑performing culture.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Senior‑level credibility across AMI pursuits, delivery leadership and client relationship management
  • Strong command of PMO discipline, commercial management, governance and executive communication
  • Ability to influence senior utility stakeholders and guide complex, multi‑vendor transformation programs
  • Builder’s mindset with a focus on developing people, reusable methods and scalable delivery rigor
To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related field
  • Approximately 10 or more years of direct AMI program management experience, with hands‑on accountability for AMI program delivery
  • Experience leading at least one large‑scale North American AMI deployment across planning, mobilization, delivery and operationalization
  • Professional services or consulting experience delivering client engagements under formal commercial constructs
  • Approximately three or more years of consulting experience, including client service delivery, stakeholder management, structured problem‑solving, and development of client‑ready recommendations and deliverables
  • Experience leveraging AI‑enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, analysis, solution development, and client delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, facilitate meetings, synthesize inputs, translate business needs into actionable workplans, and maintain delivery momentum in dynamic environments
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear recommendations, decisions, and action plans for client and EY leadership
  • Ability to lead inclusive teams, support high‑quality delivery, demonstrate commercial acumen, identify client needs, and contribute to account growth or business development opportunities
  • Experience leading multi‑vendor program delivery with milestone‑based fees, formal deliverable acceptance, structured change control and change order management
  • Demonstrated business development contribution, including leading or materially shaping pursuits, RFP responses, proposals or offerings for AMI or comparable utility programs
  • Experience engaging senior utility client stakeholders and operating within complex business, IT, vendor and regulatory governance environments
  • Experience leading large, multi‑workstream engagement teams, including onshore and offshore delivery models
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work flexible hours based on client and project needs
  • Travel expectations between 65 – 80%
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
  • Hands‑on AMI business process design, requirements development, testing or operational readiness experience

  • Experience navigating regulated utility environments, including rate case or regulatory funding context
  • Experience standing up or scaling a delivery team, capability, methodology or offering
  • Experience managing large‑scale transformation initiatives, including PMO/EPMO set‑up, transformation office design, program governance, status reporting, risk management, and end‑to‑end program or portfolio delivery
  • Experience leading or supporting technology operating model and process design, capability roadmaps, organizational change, technology strategy and transformation, cost optimization, sourcing strategies, enterprise architecture, and technology‑enabled business transformation
  • Familiarity with program and portfolio management tools and delivery methodologies, including MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Clarity, Planview, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or similar approaches
  • Ability to apply structured frameworks to solve complex business and technology challenges
  • Experience contributing to business development efforts, including shaping client conversations, developing proposals, supporting RFP responses, preparing client presentations, and using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to create executive‑ready deliverables
