Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role

As a Senior Business Analyst within the Data Management and Reporting (DMR) team, you will provide ongoing oversight of finance-related data standards, controls, and processes, with a strong focus on optimizing the Chart of Accounts. You will partner with finance and business stakeholders, technology teams, and support functions to translate organizational needs and change initiatives into clear requirements, practical recommendations, and well-executed solutions.

What you'll do here:

  • Plan and coordinate project activities tied to organizational requirements, process improvements, and change initiatives.
  • Lead requirements gathering with business communities using interviews, workshops, and working sessions with cross-functional experts.
  • Act as a key intermediary between IT, end users, and leaders across different levels, ensuring a clear, consistent flow of information.
  • Analyze inputs from multiple sources, break down high-level needs into detailed requirements, and recommend solutions to business problems.
  • Translate objectives into functional specifications and detailed documentation using defined templates and standards.
  • Ensure alignment and continuity across business units, technology teams, and support teams.
  • Identify and assess the need for change, evaluate impacts, and communicate impacts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support Quality Assurance during test planning and execution, including reviewing scenarios and validating outcomes.
  • Contribute to productivity improvements and risk reduction through strong analysis, clear documentation, and disciplined follow-through.

What you bring to the table:

  • CPA certification, with hands-on experience working with a Chart of Accounts.
  • 10+ years of relevant Business Analyst experience, including business process review and functional analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn ambiguity into structured requirements and actionable next steps.
  • Proven change management mindset, comfortable operating in evolving environments and helping others navigate change.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
  • Working understanding of relational data concepts (tables, fields, keys, joins, lookup and reference tables).
  • Strong initiative and autonomy, with solid time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Client-oriented approach and strong team spirit.
  • Experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry (asset).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (CPA required).
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
