Job Summary
HP is seeking a Business Planning Manager for the Pricing and Deal Management team within the Global Revenue Operations organization. Transforming pricing operations is one of HP's strategic priorities as we continue to evolve into a true commercial pricing-excellence enterprise. The team is directly involved in pricing +$28B of HP's annual revenue. The Business Planning Manager serves as the right hand to the Vice President of Global Pricing Operations and Deal Management. In this role, the employee develops and drives an effective operating cadence across the organization to keep leaders strategically aligned, focused on the right actions, communicating clearly, and executing efficiently. The business planning manager will lead initiatives and manage programs that include quarterly business reviews (QBRs), employee engagement initiatives, and ad hoc strategic projects as needed to ensure the organization is running smoothly and progressing toward aligned objectives and outcomes. Key to the role is leading the long-term financial planning process, managing the overall operational budget, and ensuring accountability to fiscal-year financial commitments. Success requires the ability to flex across both strategic and operational initiatives and to build strong partnerships through clear communication.
Success measured as:
โ€ข Establish a predictable operating cadence (QBRs, staff meetings, exec readouts) with clear decisions, owners, and follow-through.
โ€ข Improve forecast and budget accuracy through tighter variance management and regular financial health readouts.
โ€ข Deliver 2-3 cross-functional transformation initiatives to agreed milestones (e.g., process, governance, tooling, or reporting improvements).
โ€ข Increase leadership team visibility and alignment through crisp narratives, dashboards, and executive-ready materials.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
  • Establish and maintain a consistent operating cadence (QBRs, staff meetings, exec readouts) with clear decisions, owners, and follow-through.
  • Improve forecast and budget accuracy through disciplined variance management. Develop a detailed understanding of the full operating budget, including total cost of workforce (TCOW), program spend, and travel. Proactively manage headcount (hiring and attrition) to stay within fiscal-year financial targets. Own the financial narrative and be able to speak to drivers and details of spend.
  • Facilitate the team's preparation for executive forums and reviews, including creating executive-ready narratives, visuals, and presentations.
  • Lead regular strategic planning reviews and follow-ups to drive collaboration, accountability, and timely execution.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Host team meetings and forums that drive engagement, alignment, and collaboration across the organization.
  • Represent the VP in meetings and decision-making forums, as delegated.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operating rhythms, processes, and governance in a high-performance environment.
  • Lead the employee engagement strategy for a 300+ person organization, including all-hands planning, cascading yearly objectives, and close coordination across teams.

Strategic Alignment & Execution
  • Drive clear understanding of objectives, timelines, and ownership for key priorities across Pricing Operations.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to align strategic priorities and ensure they are communicated, tracked, and executed.
  • Provide program and project management oversight for VP-led initiatives, including milestones, risks, dependencies, and executive updates.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to build a high-performing, trusted team

Education & Experience Recommended
โ€ข Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
โ€ข Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in strategy, planning, operations, market research, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $137,000 to $180,000 USD annually with additional
