Logistics Coordinator
Neponset, Illinois | Martin Engineering Global Headquarters
Join Our Distribution Team
Martin Engineering is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our Distribution team at our global headquarters in Neponset, Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys coordinating the movement of materials and products around the world.
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely shipment of domestic and international orders while supporting inventory management, freight coordination, export compliance, and warehouse operations. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to keep our distribution processes running efficiently.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping activities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Process export documentation and maintain compliance with international shipping regulations.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, transportation providers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Prepare shipping documents, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other export-related paperwork.
  • Monitor daily shipments and generate distribution reports.
  • Investigate freight invoice discrepancies and customer concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories.
  • Serve as a liaison between Distribution, Customer Service, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Coordinate freight quotes, carrier scheduling, and expedited shipments.
  • Support warehouse operations, including loading and unloading materials and operating a forklift when required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities, ISO procedures, and department goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent two-year degree.
  • Three or more years of related logistics, distribution, shipping, warehouse, or transportation experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and business software.
