Summary

The BI Engineer utilizes industry standard data tools and methods for extracting, transforming and loading data into a central data platform.  This role provides expertise in data stewardship within the central data platform, across enterprise systems and data pipelines.

Business Intelligence and Reporting

  • Create, automate and manage integrations with existing company and vendor data systems.
  • Create and document data for reporting and analytical use cases.
  • Work with a team to manage a collection of company data models.
  • Support teams of analysts and perform development iterations to existing pipelines and in the creation of new data sets.
  • Participate in analysis and engineering projects including data pipeline development, system integration, data mining, machine learning and AI applications.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based enterprise scale infrastructure practices and data architectures

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate complex data findings in an easy-to-understand manner for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all reports and dashboards meet business requirements and provide reliable insights.

Continuous Improvement and Optimization

  • Continuously improve BI solutions, optimizing for performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, BI trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline data reporting processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field.
  • Experience working with structured query language, SQL is required.
  • Two to five years’ experience with the following is desirable; Azure Cloud Services, MSSQL Databases, Databricks, Python, C#, PowerBI.
