Job Description:
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
SkinHealth Systems' analytics function runs on Power BI - and the Sr Business Intelligence Engineer is the technical leader who sets the standard for how it's built, governed, and delivered. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for Power BI architecture, semantic model design, development pipeline governance, and mentoring BI developers, ensuring that every report and dashboard the business depends on is accurate, scalable, and built to last.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and mentor BI developers, establishing architectural and coding standards and conducting design and code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and performance.
  • Implement structured development workflows using Power BI Projects (PBIP) and Git-based version control; embed documentation and governance practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Manage the BI development backlog and priorities; track and report on delivery metrics, pipeline health, and release status with clear, executive-ready updates on initiative progress and risks.
  • Lead structured requirement gathering and solution design processes; produce and maintain clear technical and functional documentation that supports scalability, audit readiness, and knowledge transfer.
  • Operate within formal IT service management frameworks; manage BI-related incidents, requests, and changes through structured tracking systems.
  • Ensure production stability, reliability, and continuous improvement across the BI environment.
  • Develop KPI frameworks that improve service performance and customer satisfaction; enable proactive monitoring and root-cause analysis.
  • Increase automation across reporting workflows to improve development efficiency and reporting speed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of enterprise BI experience.
  • Advanced Power BI expertise including complex DAX development, semantic model design and optimization, star schema data modeling, performance tuning of large datasets, and row-level security implementation.
  • Experience working with Snowflake or other enterprise cloud data platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience implementing Power BI Projects (PBIP) and using Git-based version control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience producing structured technical and solution documentation.
  • Experience working within formal IT service management environments.
  • Experience managing development backlogs and providing delivery status reporting.
  • Experience leading or mentoring BI developers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset.

Preferred
  • Experience modernizing or scaling BI functions within a growing organization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD practices for analytics solutions.
  • Experience improving enterprise data models in partnership with data engineering teams.
  • Experience applying AI or advanced analytics techniques within reporting and analytics environments (e.g., automation, anomaly detection, predictive insights, AI-assisted development workflows).
  • Exposure to modern productivity or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Industry certifications (Power BI, Azure, ITIL, or related).
  • Exposure to Python, Streamlit, or AI-assisted analytics development workflows is a plus.
  • Experience supporting global or publicly traded organizations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
  • Primarily office-based role with extended periods of sedentary computer work.
  • Standard mobility required for team collaboration, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)

Base Pay: $121,000 - $140,000 + Bonus
An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Hydrafacial's total rewards package for our employees.
