Primary Purpose

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for helping grow business by finding new opportunities, researching leads, establishing strategic relationships with potential clients and partners. In this critical role, the BDM stays on top of market trends in an active pursuit of expanding into new territories and train our teams on new products using best-in-class sales techniques.

Major Responsibilities

  • Designs and directs the sales strategies for business group products in assigned territories.

  • Creates and implements processes and training to ensure that the sales team is equipped to sell these products effectively.

  • Collaborates with the VP of Sales and other stakeholders to expand the territory and product lines.

  • Performs analysis of specific customers to determine the most effective solutions for their needs.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans focused on new revenue generation and expands business in new areas by researching prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursuing leads and following through to a successful agreement.

  • Negotiates and closes contracts.

  • Grows revenue in assigned industry vertical, achieves gross margin target.

  • Directs the placement of new and existing products and programs with prospective customers

  • Directs the involvement of cross-functional personnel within business groups to meet performance objectives and customer expectations.

  • Drives customer service execution to ensure issue resolution. Analyzes the current business environment to implement new strategies for customer service.

  • Facilitates introductions to other sales executives.

  • Develops and recommends accurate and detailed metrics for effective financial forecasting and resource allocation.

  • Forecasts, develops, manages, and achieves budget.

  • Analyzes and reviews sales trends to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of company products, competition in the market, and positioning.

  • Follows the latest industry developments and stay up to date on corporate competitors.

  • Promotes the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience

2 to 5 years of sales experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
