The Business Development Leader is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities, driving strategic marketing initiatives, and supporting revenue growth across global markets. This role serves as a subject matter expert, leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing business strategy, and providing analytical insights to support worldwide business development and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex new technology development programs from concept through commercialization.
  • Experience managing business programs, resource allocation, budgets, intellectual property filings, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive alignment among internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure program success.
  • Collaborate with technical and legal teams to develop, prepare, and file intellectual property (IP) disclosures and patent applications.
  • Develop, manage, and track program budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and other strategic partnership contracts.
  • Establish and manage collaborative relationships with external organizations, suppliers, and development partners.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reviews, program updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional coordination to meet technical, business, and operational objectives.

Qualifications
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of engineering program management experience.
  • Japanese language proficiency and familiarity with Japanese business culture preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong program management skills with the ability to align tactical activities to strategic objectives.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
