Position Title: Business Development Manager - Professional Services
This position offers an opportunity for a seasoned professional to drive business development and client delivery within the tax industry. The Business Development Manager will engage with mid-market clients, leveraging their expertise to deliver comprehensive tax solutions while also driving new business. The role demands a blend of technical knowledge and sales acumen, fostering relationships that enhance client satisfaction and business growth. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be proactive in addressing client needs and market opportunities. This position is critical to the firm's success and offers a chance to shape client strategies while contributing to the company's expansion.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000 + 20% incentives on new account revenue
Responsibilities:
  • Generate new business through networking and outreach
  • Engage with mid-market clients across various industries and states
  • Create marketing channels to attract new clients
  • Identify opportunities to expand one-time consulting engagements into recurring monthly partnerships and long-term client relationships
  • Manage a consultative sales cycle ranging from short-term engagements to long-term projects lasting 6-12 months based on client needs
  • Communicate billing structures, monthly invoicing, and 30-day payment terms to clients
  • Coordinate client transition with team, ensuring alignment between client expectations, scope, and deliverables

Requirements:
  • Approximately 10 years of business development experience within a professional industry
  • Client delivery experience and proven business development and sales skills
  • Background in a consulting tax firm
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire clients and manage relationships
  • Experience with middle market clients
  • Experience in Sales & Use Tax sales with a strong industry network preferred
  • CPA or CMI (sales tax certification) is preferred
