Remote (Calgary-focused) · Full-Time · Confidential Search
A true hunter's seat — uncapped earning potential, a results-only culture, and the freedom to own the hunt.
Important Note: Gabriella & Co. is conducting this search on behalf of a valued client. Company details will be shared with candidates as they progress.
About Our Client:
My client is a well-established, Calgary-based recruitment partner to some of Canada's highest-volume employers — the organizations hiring hundreds to thousands of people a year for the revenue-critical roles that keep their businesses running, where every unfilled seat carries a real daily cost.
They don't sell off a rate card. They lead with an advisory, consultative approach built on decades of knowing exactly how corporate hiring works — how to find a company's real problem beneath the surface answer, and how to quantify what it's costing them. They come to every conversation already knowing a prospect's business inside out. They've earned the testimonials, the research, and the peer recognition to back it up, they've been fully remote for over a decade, and they run on results, not hours.
The Opportunity:
This is a true hunter's role. You will open new logos from a cold start and carry them all the way to close. When you bring in business, the whole company moves forward — that's the weight of it, and that's the thrill. There is no inherited book of accounts here, and no ceiling on what you can earn.
If you're the kind of seller who keeps score, knows your numbers to the percentage point, and gets a genuine rush from a deal you built yourself, keep reading.
What You'll Do:
Own new-business development end to end — prospecting, cold outreach, discovery, and closing. You'll work an established, proven sequence (calls, emails, structured follow-up, all built in a modern CRM) with the discipline to execute it every day, not just when you feel like it.
Sell consultatively into corporate HR and talent-acquisition budgets. That means listening more than you talk, answering a question with a better question, and getting beneath the first objection — because "we have no budget" usually means something more specific, and your job is to find out what.
Read a business fast. You'll quickly see how a prospect makes money, identify their revenue-critical roles, and quantify the cost of leaving those roles unfilled — turning a problem into a number the buyer actually feels.
Close face-to-face. This market's business gets done in person. When you've got meetings lined up to close, you get yourself in the room — on your own initiative.
Bring ideas. My client has built something that works, but they want someone who'll test, refine, and come back with "here's what I tried, here's the result, here's how we make it better."
Who You Are:
Smart, first and foremost. You understand the sales process instinctively and you can think on your feet — critical thinking under pressure is second nature.
Disciplined and self-directed. Nobody will tell you when to start your day or micromanage your activity. You build your sequence, you work your list, and you keep going until you get a clear yes or a fast no. You're ruthless with your time.
Consultative, not pushy. You know that the less talking you do, the better you are — and that the person across from you should walk away feeling genuinely heard.
Commercially sharp. You get how businesses make money and you can turn a problem into a quantified cost the buyer feels.
A hunter, not a farmer. Your track record is built on new logos you opened cold — not accounts you inherited and renewed.
Backgrounds that tend to thrive here: former realtors (you've lived on 100% commission and know how to protect your time), agency recruiters who've run a full 360 desk, startup sellers who built pipeline with no brand behind them, and experienced B2B reps — from media, telecom, advertising, or anywhere with a considered sale — who are ready to be treated like an adult and paid without a ceiling.
Location:
Calgary strongly preferred. My client is also open to candidates across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Atlantic Canada who are self-directed about traveling to Calgary to close business face-to-face. Most of the work is done from a home office; the travel call is yours to make, based on where your deals are.
What's on Offer:
A competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on every deal you close — with genuine, compounding earning power for someone who runs the process and builds real momentum over time.
Beyond the earnings, this is a rare culture of trust: results-only management, no micromanagement, and real flexibility — including three weeks' vacation to start, a personal/family day every month, Friday half-days ahead of statutory holidays, and a full year-end closure that doesn't touch your vacation. You'll be fully equipped to succeed from home, with any technology you need provided.
A realistic note: this is a build. Landing your first deals takes patience and discipline — the reward is an uncapped upside that keeps growing as your pipeline does. The right person plays the long game for the bigger win.
(Full compensation details will be discussed directly during the interview process.)
Interview Process:
A first conversation with the company's founder, a follow-up with the founder and their operations lead, and a final reverse conversation — this one for you to interview them. People don't leave jobs, they leave managers, so this fit matters to everyone. Offer and start date are essentially immediate for the right person.
How to Apply:
This isn't a "click apply and attach your résumé" role — and the way you apply is the first step in the process.
