Job description

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Business Development Representative to join our Bank at Work team of outstanding professionals in the Upstate Market (including Greenville, Spartanburg, and surrounding areas).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Actively contribute as a Bank at Work team member by driving program growth through the onboarding of new employers and associations.
  • Actively acquire, develop, and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with employers, associations, and community organizations to leverage and continually grow business development opportunities. Attend at least two professional networking events a month.
  • Maintain contact with and conduct regular site visits to existing employers, associations, and community organizations to promote credit union products and services and generate future sales.
  • Prepare, communicate, and conduct meetings and presentations to existing and prospective employers, associations, and community organizations to include Executive Leadership and Human Resource Professionals; coordinate with subject matter experts as needed.
  • Coordinate with all internal credit union partners, including Financial Center Managers, to deliver financial education tailored to the needs of employers, associations, and community organizations.
  • Contribute to the Financial Education Program by actively seeking opportunities to provide programs that support the needs of employers, associations, and community organizations, to include Executive Leadership and Human Resource Professionals and their staff on a variety of subjects such as retirement, credit worthiness, etc.
  • Conduct financial center visits regularly and participate in launches to educate financial center staff. Meet with Bank at Work Champions to review updates on policy and procedures and potential company acquisitions. Work with Champions to create on-site event schedules, supply materials and advise on best practices for the Bank at Work program. Create outbound dialing campaigns and work with financial center staff to structure strategic outbound dialing efforts.
  • Meet with Financial Center Managers and Area Vice Presidents regularly to update and strategize on Bank at Work market growth.
  • Support SC Financial Solutions growth by consistently offering employers, associations, and community organizations various ancillary products that would be beneficial.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Possess an associate's degree or two years of college in a similar or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess two years of related experience with a focus in sales/relationship building, and community involvement within a financial institution.
  • Previous sales experience with the ability to achieve or exceed goals.
  • Possess prior public speaking experience.
  • Possess the ability to develop and deliver presentations to prospective employers, associations, and community organizations to include Executive Leadership and Human Resource Professionals and their staff.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with members and employees in person and by telephone/email.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to engage in relationship building discussions.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to identify and anticipate members' needs and sell products and services.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Possess interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Possess problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Possess proficiency of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess intermediate mathematical skills performing calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
