Description

ALL4 is seeking a Regional Director to oversee offices and growth in the Northeast, including the New England (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT) and the Mid-Atlantic (NY, NJ, PA) regions. The Regional Director (RD) is responsible for leading the offices in their region as their own business unit (BU) consistent with the goals and objectives of the overall corporate entity. The RD develops Business Unit Leaders (BULs), drives regional growth, ensures operational excellence, and demonstrates corporate ownership beyond their direct reporting structure. This individual is committed to furthering our vision as a globally recognized consulting company shaping environmental, health and safety responsibility and creating distinction for employees, clients, and partners while working closely with clients in strategic partnerships supported by a foundation of authentic communication, personal ownership, and accountability. 

Requirements

The Regional Director is responsible for the following primary areas of business management for the BUs in their region:


Leadership Development

  • Build BULs who can tangibly grow the business in a self-directed manner in their region through expansion of client portfolios (including cross-selling services and expansion of geographies), strategic hires, and by scaling the current team to act as fully independent consultants.
  • Lead and develop future leaders in alignment with ALL4's Core Values and Leadership Foundations.

Scale the Business

  • Identify regional market drivers and develop and implement strategies to position ALL4 to increase market share.
  • Drive the growth of BUs through recruiting, sales, and other available financial mechanisms (bill rate, fixed fee value premium, etc.) consistent with the growth targets outlined in ALL4's Strategic Plans.
  • Source and lead strategic recruiting, sales, and acquisition targets. 
  • Conduct routine engagement meetings for top growth potential clients in the region.
  • Drive organic key client growth exceeding rate-driven increases.
  • Maintain leadership succession pipelines for BUs.

Operational Excellence

  • Understand the business and how to run it the ALL4 way (operational excellence is demonstrated independently/self-directed). BUs at a minimum meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure detailed monthly project review meetings occur and meet Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
  • Model and train BUL recruiting and interviewing skills.
  • Minimize key employee turnover. 
  • Identify and act on performance management in a timely manner consistent with the HR process.
  • Meet or exceed 90% of Operational KPIs (base) and exceed all KPIs (high performance).

Organizational Mindset/Ownership

  • Demonstrate consistent ownership of company performance beyond your direct team, BU, or region.
  • Effectively communicate at a board level on key aspects of the business.
  • Effectively communicate ALL4's business to future ownership prospects and Merger and Acquisition targets.
  • Proactively address business operations issues/breakdowns: IT, HR, office lease, Health and Safety, etc.

Visibility and Impact

  • Seek opportunities and effectively articulate and lead change management. Develop and implement creative organizational growth strategies.
  • Seek opportunities to present as a visible leadership spokesperson at Celebrate the Year (CTY), Monthly Standup Meetings, Weekly Monday Meetings, Monthly Regulatory Deep Dives, Monthly Brown Brags/Bags, and other company events.
  • Routinely be physically present and driving engagement at business unit offices and business unit cultural events.
  • Develop and promote cultural gatekeepers - people who drive cultural foundations and orient others in a positive manner, aligned with the organization's core values.
  • Identify, nurture, and leverage key influencers (i.e., employees in the BU that are influential in other's behaviors and thinking).

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 10 years of environmental consulting, operational, or related leadership experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and run multiple BUs or consulting operations of over 30 employees.
  • Ability to produce operational excellence in a BU aligned with ALL4 standards for running a business. Operational excellence is defined as guiding a team to produce predictable results and behaviors related to setting and hitting net revenue targets that align with ALL4 year over year organic growth targets (i.e., 15%+), forecasting, resource distribution and utilization, sales, client work product quality, and project management.
  • An understanding of the consulting business model and demonstrated ability to define, predict, lead, and manage financial performance.
  • Understanding of the consulting sales process and ability to drive client growth and sales.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining successful, self-directed environmental consultants.
  • Alignment and training in ALL4 leadership foundations or equivalent training.
  • Exceptional ability to develop, lead, and enroll strong teams with a wide range of personality types.
  • Commitment to ALL4's Core Values; openness to change, personal growth, and coaching.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely, sound decisions and navigate ambiguity.
  • A strong network in the environmental consulting space (or ability to develop and grow a network of professionals) is desired but not a pre-requisite.
