Job description

Responsible for the internal and external cleaning of companies vehicles. Ensure that vehicles are prioritized for cleaning according to their departure time. Coordinating the cleaning schedule with the other cleaners to facilitate an orderly flow of work between all cleaning shifts. Assist and guide other cleaners to maximize their efforts and streamline the cleaning process. Maintain the cleaning standards set by the Company for each particular type of vehicle.

Essential Functions

  • Record daily work performed by the shift in the appropriate logbook
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate level of supplies on hand and request/order additional items when necessary
  • Maintain the physical presence of the wash bay, keeping the area clean and free of obvious hazards
  • Securing the buildings and fuel pumps before leaving for the evening or weekend.
  • Garage the appropriate vehicles that will need to be used later that day or the following day
  • Advise mechanics of any vehicle defects or past due maintenance that is discovered
  • Able to drive a charter or route on an as needed basis.
  • Principal Working Relationships

    Internal: Contact with all departments. This position is part of a maintenance team, which must work together as one unit. Each individual within the team depends on the other to accomplish their work and cover for the others when needed.

    External: Minimal

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent, prefer the individual have two-years of prior work experience. Cleaners must possess a valid and current Commercial Driving License (CDL). In addition, must be able to move vehicles within the yard and between company terminals.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret cleaning schedule. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other cleaners, drivers and office staff.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a wide variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
