Position Description: Activity Bus Driver School Bus Drivers must possess or have the ability to acquire an appropriate commercial driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia; must pass a physical examination as prescribed by the Virginia Department of Education; and possess and maintain a satisfactory driving record from the Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles that meets state requirements and indicates positive driving points. FLSA: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Driving school bus; picking up and delivering students to/from activities. School bus drivers also...Performs pre-trip inspection of school bus; reports operating and equipment deficiencies;Washes bus; cleans bus inside and out;Fuels bus as required;Obeys all traffic laws and observes mandatory safety regulations for school bus operations;Transports only authorized students, school personnel and/or authorized chaperons on special trips;Reports all accidents and completes required reports;Conducts periodic emergency bus evacuation drills;Transports students to special events and field trips;Records mileage; maintains various records and prepares a variety of reports on activities;Ensures passenger safety; maintains discipline on bus; makes reports as necessary;Makes bus available for scheduled maintenance and/or repairs;Performs related tasks as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school
