Job description

TITLE: Bus Driver & Substitute Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be certified by licensed physician, using state
Medical Examination Report (TF-7- 90).
2. Must possess Class B, CDL with 'P' & 'S' endorsement.
3. Must be neat in appearance, courteous, and cooperative.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor / Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on bus and reports any misconduct to the principal.
4. Keeps assigned bus clean, and any substitute bus must be clean before returning.
5. Keeps to assigned schedule.
6. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
7. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
8. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
9. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
10. Transports only authorized students.
11. Reports all accidents immediately to the authorities and Supervisor
of Transportation and completes required reports.
12. Enforces regulations against tobacco usage and eating on the bus.
13. Promotes safety and enforces safety rules with students on the bus.
14. Undergoes a physical examination and attends driver training classes annually.
15. Obeys and enforces all Greene County rules and policies for bus drivers and students.
