Job description

Responsible for the painting of all painted surfaces, both inside and out. Maintains the physical building in good repair including but not limited to flooring, carpet, walls, wall covering, ceilings, items installed on walls and doors. Responsible for assembly, disassembly and transportation of non-medical equipment as well as systems furniture with emphasis on systems installation. Also responsible for relocation of freestanding furniture including desks, file cabinets, chairs, tables, ergonomic equipment, etc. Performs field repairs on all types of furniture. Mount wall hung items such as pictures, shelving, signage, maps, monitors, bulletin and market boards, etc. Provides related services to department managers. Skilled in the use of power tools and equipment. Coordinates work with other staff and contractors as necessary. Utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)software to receive, track and close-out work orders. Maintains all necessary documentation and testing logs to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Federal and/or State requirements. The incumbent may drive a Mayo Clinic vehicle on a regular or occasional basis.

High School Diploma/GED required. Minimum 2 years' experience in general building troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. Associate degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to utilize computers and tablets.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, including contractors and vendors.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write and speak English. 
Demonstrated self-starter and ability to take initiative, escalating issues as needed and appropriate.
Must be able to communicate effectively with users on furniture components and layouts. 
Must be able to stand and stoop for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills required.
Previous experience in building finishes, repair and installation, such as painting, flooring, wallpaper, ceramic tile, stucco, acoustical ceilings, etc. preferred.
Previous experience in systems furniture installation/modification such as Herman Miller, Steelcase, etc. preferred.
Previous Vocational/Technical training in trade disciplines preferred.
Valid Arizona driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record required.
