Job description

Forklift & Building Material Operator - Phoenix

Weyerhaeuser Phoenix Distribution Center is currently seeking a Forklift Operations Associate. Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated leaders, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to the wood products yard/warehouse. Our entry level pay rate starts at $20.50 per hour.

Key Functions:

  • Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
  • Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars
  • Safely do your job to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others. Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
  • Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
  • Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
  • Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.

This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55- 65% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A positive willing to learn attitude.
  • No prior forklift operator experience required. Training provided.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able work outside in the elements five days a week and occasional Saturdays depending on business needs.
  • Ability to work on a computer.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
