We're looking for a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team at our Sparks, NV data center. In this role, you'll own the physical infrastructure that keeps our AI compute environment running at peak performance - from mechanical and electrical systems to HVAC, cooling, and building management. You'll partner closely with data center operations, construction, and energy teams to ensure our facility meets the demanding uptime and efficiency standards our customers depend on.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and wants to be on the front lines of AI infrastructure.
What You'll Do
  • Own day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of all facility systems including electrical distribution (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators), HVAC, cooling/chiller plants, and building management systems (BMS)
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs; track and resolve facility work orders through completion
  • Monitor facility health via DCIM and BMS platforms; identify anomalies and respond rapidly to minimize downtime
  • Partner with construction and capital projects teams on facility expansions, retrofits, and equipment upgrades - including scope development, vendor coordination, and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes including NEC, OSHA, and applicable fire/life safety regulations
  • Maintain critical documentation including single-line diagrams, equipment logs, maintenance records, and SOPs
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance, inspections, and emergency response
  • Support capacity planning efforts by tracking power, cooling, and space utilization
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support 24/7 critical facility operations
  • Champion a culture of safety by enforcing lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and other electrical safety protocols

What We're Looking For
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, data center operations, or critical infrastructure environments
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems (medium and low voltage), UPS/PDU systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches (ATS)
  • Experience with mechanical/cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water plants, cooling towers, and precision air systems
  • Familiarity with BMS/DCIM platforms for monitoring and control
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and sound judgment under pressure
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience in hyperscale or colocation data center environments
  • Familiarity with DCIM tools (e.g., Sunbird, Nlyte, or similar)
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training
  • Experience with commissioning (Cx) and integrated systems testing (IST)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency practices in data center environments (PUE optimization, free cooling, etc.)

Compensation Range
Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $110,000 -$135,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
