Job description

Perform a combination of preventative maintenance, HAVC, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical maintenance throughout property.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to understand and comply with all hotel and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff

  • Read, write, and communicate verbally in English

  • Ability to perform basic math

  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment

  • Previous experience in Engineering or Facilities in relation to general building maintenance 

  • Minimum three years' experience as a general building repair technician preferably involved in hospitality industry 

  • High School diploma or equivalent

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires 90% mobility to include frequent standing, bending and reaching from floor to 6ft., climbing using ladders and stairs

  • Operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklift, pallet jack

  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 100 lbs.

  • Use of hand and power tools

  • Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity

  • Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound

  • Requires normal vision range and the ability to distinguish letters and symbols

  • Requires communicating by telephone, beeper, and radio

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech - both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

  • Implement routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations. Closely monitor the effects of servicing and maintenance on their condition wherever possible. Ensure that all records of maintenance and testing are kept

  • Minimum three years' experience as a general building repair technician preferably involved in hospitality industry 

  • Must have knowledge in HVAC, Refrigeration and EPA licensed

  • Worked in the Engineering or Facilities department in relation to general building maintenance 

  • Perform preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment

  • Circuit breaker reset

  • Basic plumbing repairs

  • Respond to Maximo WO's

  • Keep daily logs

  • Support events
