HDR is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services group. This individual will be responsible for the site civil design projects for a variety of markets including but not limited to Federal, Water/Wastewater, Municipal and Industrial. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. They will be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designs. Other responsibilities will also include leading a team of engineers and CAD professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft suite applications, MicroStation, InRoads and other civil engineering software as appropriate
  • Experience with Maryland, Virginia and DC stormwater permitting
  • Experience in site development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control)
  • Preference given to candidates currently residing in the Mid-Atlantic (VA/MD/DC) Area

This position is subject to a governmental background check. Due to client contract requirements, US naturalized citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience
