What You'll Do: As a Building Engineer - Critical Environments, you'll support the 24/7 operation of mission-critical data center infrastructure. You'll work alongside experienced engineers while developing expertise that keeps the digital world running.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assist with maintenance of all building systems including fire/life safety, HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, plumbing, and building controls to ensure continuous operation.

  • Support operation and maintenance of electrical systems including UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, emergency generators, primary switchgear, power distribution equipment, and transformers.

  • Monitor refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; assist with adjustments to boilers, ventilating systems, and water heaters; maintain pumps, valves, piping, and filters.

  • Record equipment readings, observe system performance, assist with diagnosing problems, and support corrective action to prevent downtime.

  • Manage work orders through CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets efficiently.

  • Follow emergency escalation procedures and assist with incident management for critical systems.

  • Maintain safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policy.

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experienceoperating, maintaining, or troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or facility systems in environments requiring reliability and uptime (industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, power generation, military facilities, hospitals, large commercial buildings, oil & gas operations, or similar)

  • Hands-on technical aptitudewith building systems such as electrical distribution, backup power systems, HVAC equipment, pumps, motors, controls, or related mechanical/electrical infrastructure

  • Problem-solving mindset- you can observe equipment behavior, identify when something isn't operating correctly, and take appropriate action or escalate effectively

  • Strong communication skillsfor documentation, shift handoffs, and team coordination

  • Basic computer skillsincluding email, documentation systems, and willingness to learn maintenance management software

  • Safety-conscious approachto working around energized equipment and industrial machinery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Corrigo CMMS experience

  • Universal EPA 608 certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • NFPA 70E electrical safety training

  • Trade school, technical training, or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC disciplines

  • Military veterans with facility operations, power generation, or mechanical systems experience strongly encouraged to apply

  • Experience in oil & gas, power plants, manufacturing, or other mission-critical industrial operations

Physical Requirements
  • This hands-on role requires physical capability and comfort working in industrial environments:
  • Walk large campus-style facilities throughout your shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Climb stairs and access rooftop equipment in all weather conditions
  • Use ladders up to 30 ft and work at heights safely (300 lb weight limit)
  • Work various schedules including holidays as needed
  • Respond to site emergencies outside regular hours when required
