Job Description
Our client is seeking a Building Engineer to support the operations and maintenance of a Class B office property in the Clear Lake area. This role plays a key part in ensuring the building operates efficiently, safely, and professionally while delivering a high level of service to tenants. Working closely with property management, the Building Engineer will support day-to-day building operations, preventative maintenance programs, and facility-related projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on, service-oriented, and committed to maintaining a quality office environment through strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property
  • Respond to tenant service requests and building-related issues
  • Inspect and monitor building systems to ensure proper operation
  • Complete preventative maintenance on building equipment
  • Maintain work orders, maintenance logs, and related documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed
  • Assist with building repairs, projects, and operational improvements
  • Monitor utilities and report maintenance concerns
  • Support property management in day-to-day building operations
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for tenants and visitors
  • Order maintenance supplies and equipment as needed
  • Participate in training and other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Experience maintaining commercial office buildings or similar facilities
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
