Job Summary:
TAP Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer Level 3 to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex software systems in a mission-focused environment. This role involves serving as a technical leader, driving system architecture, development processes, and ensuring software quality across multiple teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Analyze user requirements to define software design and performance objectives
โ€ข Design, develop, and enhance complex software systems and applications
โ€ข Lead the development and implementation of advanced algorithms under strict system constraints
โ€ข Integrate software into new or existing systems and environments
โ€ข Debug and resolve complex software defects and performance issues
โ€ข Design and implement complex database queries and data interfaces
โ€ข Serve as technical lead across multiple software development teams
โ€ข Oversee development efforts to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines
โ€ข Perform quality control and ensure adherence to software development standards
โ€ข Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to define system requirements and interfaces
โ€ข Coordinate software system installation and ensure operational performance requirements are met
โ€ข Recommend and implement new technologies, tools, and development processes
โ€ข Select appropriate software development methodologies in coordination with engineering leadership

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science or a related field OR 24 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
โ€ข 20+ years of experience in software engineering or development roles
โ€ข Expert-level experience with one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
โ€ข Experience developing applications for Windows and/or UNIX/Linux environments
โ€ข Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, and performance optimization
โ€ข Experience leading multiple software development teams
โ€ข Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Terraform, Ansible, or Packer
โ€ข Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo and building automated pipelines
โ€ข Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience working with large-scale distributed systems or real-time processing environments
โ€ข Strong background in advanced algorithm development and optimization
