Job Title: Receptionist / Service Writer (Training Provided) Location: Fitchburg/Leominster Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Starting @18 with no restriction to overtime if applicable.

A&P Auto is a busy, customer-focused auto repair facility specializing in “general repair, diagnostics, and maintenance for domestic & import vehicles We pride ourselves on honest service, quick turnaround, and a friendly team environment.

Position Overview We are seeking an organized, personable Receptionist / Service Writer to be the face of our shop. You’ll greet customers, answer phones, schedule appointments, write up repair orders, and assist technicians with parts look-ups and updates.

No prior service-writer experience required—we will train the right candidate. Previous auto-shop or service-advisor experience is a strong advantage and may qualify for higher starting pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers, answer multi-line phones, and manage appointment calendar
  • Write clear, accurate repair orders (ROs) and explain estimates to customers
  • Track job progress, relay updates, and present final invoices
  • Process payments (cash, card, financing) and handle basic bookkeeping
  • Coordinate with technicians on parts, diagnostics, and timelines
  • Maintain a clean, professional front counter and waiting area

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication & people skills—must enjoy helping customers
  • Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace/MS Office, POS systems)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Preferred (but not required): 1+ years in automotive service writing, parts counter, or dealership advisor role
