Job description

New Realm Brewing Company was founded in Atlanta in 2016 and serves as the innovation hub for the greater company which consists of 6 locations across the South. Our beer is destined for distribution, as well as our taprooms and beer gardens, in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and Alabama. The Brewery Packaging Technician will work with the Packaging Supervisor and Operations team to package finished products into kegs, cans and bottles.
This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with brewery packaging experience to advance their career and knowledge in a rapidly growing company. We include access to an industry-leading benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. The employee benefit package also includes paid sick time, vacation accrual, and paid holidays. This role is expected to work a 40-hour work week Tuesday through Friday on four ten-hour shifts with opportunity for OT. Shift hours are flexible and will change with workflow demands, shift flexibility is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating Keg washer/filler
Operating canning line as well as learn and implement canning quality control SOPs
Operating bottling line as well as learn and implement canning quality control SOPs
Become an expert in all aspects of packaging operations from filling to seaming to label application and pack-out
Maintain excellent records and communicate clearly with the team
Learn and implement CIP/SIP procedures of wort-ways, kegging and canning equipment
Clean and properly maintain equipment and premises
Communicate mechanical problems with Packaging Supervisor and troubleshoot issues
Monthly audit and inventory of packaging supplies
Other duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Lead
Education and Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in kegging and/or canning operations as an operator
High school diploma preferred but not required
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially excel, outlook and teams
Skills and Abilities:
Mechanical ability and willingness to learn troubleshooting techniques is preferred
Flexible and adaptive, take ownership of their area while working within a small, collaborative team structure
Ability to communicate clearly, be detail oriented and have excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent math and written communication skills, as well as accurate record-keeping, are a must!
Ability to operate or learn to operate a walk-behind forklift, scissor lift and electric pallet jack
Must be at least 21 years of age and have an understanding of the physical requirements a manufacturing position demand
Able to lift 60 lbs. chest high and be able to maneuver 165 lbs. at floor level
Must be focused on safety and aware of surroundings, any necessary PPE will be provided to employee including a yearly steel toe boot credit
Will work in all Virginia Beach weather, including hot and humid to cool environments. May need to occasionally work around loud equipment. Must have a passion for craft beer and spirits and ensuring quality products.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
