In the role of Technician, you will be part of the Brewing Team. You will be working in the brewing department and will be responsible for the production of beer and the knowledge and understanding of fermenting, conditioning and other brewing stages while understanding and operating the brewing systems; producing a quality product; and investigating methods to improve the process.
This position reports to the Line Leader in Brewing and works closely with other operators.
What You'll Be Brewing:
  • Responsible for operating, understanding, and rotating through conditioning, the brew house, and fermentation.
  • Responsible inputting data and maintaining documents to the assigned area.
  • Must complete reporting concerning productivity, quality, safety, maintenance, line information, manpower schedule, station control, waste monitoring, or training records in an accurate, timely and legible manner.
  • Must perform sampling, assist with accident investigations/follow-up, assist with hazard analysis, assist with audits, and attend meetings as required.
  • Must read and interpret brewery schedules, job procedures or work instructions, and any special notices and/or instructions.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret shift data from quality results and PI historian with a bias for action.
  • Must have an understating of up and down stream processes, including utilities and wastewater treatment, and implications to own area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for utilizing forklift to move material and/or finished product to and from the line.
  • Responsible for conducting a sensory analysis of all raw materials and in process product. Responsible for communicating with the team on all matters pertaining to the overall operation and function of equipment in the brewery to include ammonia chillers, filtration process, centrifuge, and heat exchangers.
  • Coaches team on effective shift handovers, according to standards.
  • Partners with Process Leader and Training Specialist to implement training plans.
  • Onboards new team members according to the standard onboarding process.
  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating activities with maintenance, quality, asset care, and other specialists as required.
  • Responsible for assisting management with process changes and adjustments to standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for and dedicated to personal and team safety in relation to completion of tasks and duties.
  • Responsible for and dedicated to quality in relation to completion of tasks and duties.
  • Responsible for assisting in the implementation and workings of WCSC 2.0 while performing work.
  • Partners with teams and safety council members to identify and highlight unsafe work practices and escalate/correct with a sense of urgency.
  • Responsible for autonomous maintenance of lab equipment, valves, motors, pumps, filter and mechanical malt handling equipment to ensure the brewery is running efficiently producing a quality product.
  • Performs housekeeping as required to maintain a safe and clean workplace.
  • Responsible for adherence to published schedules and knowledge/expertise to make solid business decisions on shift basis, in modification of schedule as required.

Key Ingredients:
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a proven track record of achievement in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in MS Outlook and MS Word
  • High level of mechanical aptitude/ability
  • Filler or control room experience is recommended
  • Mathematical skills for calculating, scheduling, and accurate interpretation of data.
  • Familiarity with computerized controls and data input.
  • You have a flexible schedule and can work a 12-hour, rotating shift
  • Completion of an associate degree, bachelor's degree, or Military will be accepted in lieu of warehouse/manufacturing experience.
