We're seeking the right candidate for the position of Food Service Cook at Baton Rouge Healthcare Center. In this vital role, you'll ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care while collaborating with a dedicated team, providing exceptional clinical leadership and support.
What You Bring to the Table:
Essential Qualifications:
  • Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste.
  • Reviews food menus and work orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation.
  • Preps, measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
  • Assists driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery.
  • Portions and arrange food and distribute to waitstaff to be served.
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Labels and dates all food items in accordance with food storage chart.
  • Receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries in appropriate areas.
  • Ensure food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Louisiana Department of Health sanitation standards.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with the CommCare Corporation mission and core values.

Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
  • One year of experience as a line cook, prep cook or breakfast cook in a food service setting and experience working with seniors is preferred but not required.
  • 18 years of age or over.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
