Job description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct clinical supervision to activity specialist and substance abuse counselor. Responsible for design and oversight of group counseling program. Ensure monthly DHS group statistics are compiled and submitted for review. Provide group-based clinical services to address mental health issues. Oversee and conduct multiple groups daily to increase client stability, treatment stability and housing readiness. Conduct therapeutic and pychoeducational groups with topics, including but are not limited, to stress management, anger management and conflict resolution, decision-making, impulse control, suicide and self-harm prevention and support, medication compliance and living with chronic mental illness. Provide individual follow-up as needed. Related duties as assigned.

HOURS:

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, art therapy or a related field required. Excellent interpersonal, managerial and supervisory skills necessary. Experience working with MICA clients in both individual and group modalities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization, computer and typing skills, and the ability to use independent judgment.
