Job Description
Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing, Promotions, and Corporate Sponsorships
JOB SUMMARY:
The person in this position will create and execute strategies to expand Intercollegiate Athletics Sponsorship revenue opportunities by identifying, assessing, and developing new business opportunities. Leading the integration of community and corporate partnerships to the development of an outstanding gameday environment. Develop, coordinate, and implement plans designed to increase business and capture new prospects including the sale of sponsorships locally, regionally and nationally. Responsible for sales/revenue goals related to these markets. Assist in motivation of staff to reach program goals and follow through with fulfilment of contracts. Establish and implement strong communication strategies to support solicitation of new business partners.
- Responsible for pursuing, packaging, and cultivating corporate partnerships.
- Develop all in-game scripting, marketing & promotions for all sports.
- Hire and manage marketing assistant positions and intern program
- Represent the department on University, community, conference and national committees
- Work with communications to create department creative for sales, tickets, and branding.
- Identify corporate partner opportunities and establish relationships with key marketing and advertising decisions-makers.
• Assist in ensuring all corporate sponsors are compliant with NCAA, CC, & UNCP rules regarding corporate partnerships and use of student-athlete likeness.
• Develop robust sponsor packages to include inventory across a number of medium. Set appropriate value for inventory and ensure that fair market value is received.
• Ensure sponsor fulfillment for signage, in-game inventory, and other web related signage.
• Consult Director of Athletics for all co-branded content.
• Utilize Director of Athletics in sales process on an as needed basis.
• Determine appropriate sponsor saturation in all medium with consultation from the Director of Athletics.
- Work with external operations team to create department creative for sales, tickets, & branding.
- Work with Braves Club Executive Director on annual fundraiser initiatives (ex: Back The Braves, Cash Bash) and distribution of season tickets
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Affinity Licensing and merchandise revenue in partnership with the UNCP Bookstore (Follett)
- Lead a brand awareness campaign to extend into the local community.
- Other duties commensurate with experience and as assigned by Director of Athletics
