Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Box Office Manager is a key member of the Ticketing Department, responsible for the daily operation and strategic execution of all box office functions at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. This role oversees ticket operations, supervises seasonal and game day staff, and ensures a best-in-class experience for all fans and clients.
This individual will play a critical role in managing ticket inventory, supporting revenue generation, servicing 919 Members, and coordinating ticketed areas throughout the ballpark, including picnic and group spaces. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service while operating in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Game Presentation & In-Game Entertainment

  • Support all aspects of the Ticketing Department, including daily box office operations and event execution.
  • Build, manage, and maintain ticketed events, pricing, inventory, and offers for baseball and non-baseball events.
  • Oversee all ticket fulfillment processes, including order processing, payments, and distribution.
  • Manage game day box office operations, including walk-up sales, customer service, phone inquiries, and seat relocations.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise part-time, seasonal, and game day box office staff.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance feedback to all box office personnel.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for ticket-related issues, ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
  • Support season ticket and mini plan renewals, including direct service to 919 Members via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Coordinate and fulfill approved ticket requests, including charitable donations and complimentary tickets, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Track and report attendance and financial data for all events, including presales, walk-up sales, and promotional impacts.
  • Become proficient and maximize usage of all technologies including Ticketmaster, Archtics, Fevo, Fan Maker, GiveX, ParkHub and other systems.
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service in all interactions.
  • Prepare, organize and maintain box office and storage areas throughout the year.
  • Perform administrative duties including reporting, filing, and order fulfillment, as well as coverage of the front desk reception when needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in box office operations, ticketing, or a related field (sports or live events preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Customer-first mindset with a commitment to delivering a high-level fan experience.
  • Proficiency with ticketing systems (Ticketmaster /Archtics experience preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate across departments.
