Summary of Job Duties:
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking to hire multiple Bowen Fellows. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following job duties: Attend Bowen Fellow training; Contact incoming 1Ls to welcome each student, assist during First-Week, provide information, answer questions as able, and refer students to other offices when appropriate; Attend weekly, mandatory Bowen Fellow staff meetings or training; facilitate weekly 45-minute guided group study meetings at assigned locations and time; provide academic counseling and support for 1L's; maintain detailed records of 1L attendance during meetings. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Upcoming 2L or 3L status;
  • Commitment to the objectives of the Bowen Student Success Program;
  • A demonstrated record of academic achievement, professionalism, and Bowen community engagement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Summer:
  • Attend Bowen Fellow training;
  • Contact incoming 1Ls to welcome each student, provide information, answer questions as able, and refer students to other offices when appropriate.

Fall:
  • Attend weekly, mandatory Bowen Fellow staff meetings or training;
