The History of Foley Family Wines & Spirits
In spring of 1996, Bill & Carol Foley purchased 1,000 acres of lush and fertile earth within the then relatively unknown Sta. Rita Hills region of Santa Barbara County. Their plan – produce hand-crafted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that reflected the best of California’s Central Coast. Named for their two daughters – Lindsey & Courtney – Lincourt Vineyards was born, and with it, the beginning of Foley Family Wines & Spirits.

Summary
The Bottling Mechanic will work towards attaining bottling goals and company objectives through carrying out skilled technical duties involving repair, maintenance, replacement, installation of bottling equipment and systems. Multiple tasks in this sense may include repair, maintenance, alteration, installation, fabrication, and construction that require utilization of skills in problem solving, teamwork, communication, giving attention to detail and abiding by all safety guidelines and compliance requirements. While doing so, observes the department’s standard operating procedures, safety practices and wine industry GMP’s as related to Food Safety and HACCP.

** This position will work at both Ferrari-Carano winery in Healdsburg and PreVail in Geyserville.**

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting s safety awareness to co-workers.
• Promotes quality work and a positive team atmosphere.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various bottling line equipment such as, conveyors, fillers, corkers, screw cappers, labelers, foilers, case packers, pelletizers etc.
• Assist in bottling line changeovers, adjustments, and synchronization.
• Apply technical skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and improve bottling line equipment.
• Procure parts, materials, and consumables needed to maintain the bottling line.
• Layout and installation of various bottling line equipment.
• Ensure on time start-ups and minimal downtime.
• Properly document maintenance and repair tasks using various computer programs.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of safety, efficiency, and operational procedures.
• Maintain good working relationships with vendors and contractors within the support network.
• Communicate with bottling team to always maintain a continuous path of forward improvement

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Experience & Qualifications:
• High school graduate, or equivalent, with a minimum 3 years bottling line maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to be insured on FFWS’s policy
• Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s values and highest quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications
• PLC / VFD troubleshooting experience
• Lean manufacturing / 5S
• Ability to effectively weld and fabricate stainless steel.
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience with MBF Monoblocs

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
• Climb 12 ft ladder, stairs, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds., occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and overtime, particularly peak bottling periods.
