What is book marketing remote?

Book Marketing Remote refers to the process of promoting and selling books from a location outside of a traditional office, often from home or any place with internet access. Professionals in this role use digital marketing strategies such as social media, email campaigns, virtual book tours, and online advertising to reach readers and boost book sales. This job requires strong communication skills, creativity, and familiarity with digital marketing tools. It is ideal for those who are self-motivated and comfortable working independently or in virtual teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a book marketing remote professional?

To thrive as a Book Marketing Remote professional, you need expertise in digital marketing, content creation, and campaign management, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Effective communication and regular check-ins are crucial for ensuring everyone is on the same page, despite not sharing a physical office. This collaborative approach allows for flexibility while maintaining strong partnerships and successful book launches.

You'll work with regional and community banks and credit unions (assets ~$5B-$50B) to transform their marketing capabilities, drive customer acquisition, and accelerate growth through innovative, data-driven marketing strategies. This is an ideal position for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a "player-coach" environment, combining strategic advisory expertise with hands-on leadership of high-impact marketing transformation initiatives. You'll have the autonomy to build your book of business while shaping the future of how financial institutions engage with their customers.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Client Growth: Drive revenue growth by expanding existing banking and
credit union client relationships and acquiring new "on-strategy" clients; Own and exceed annual
revenue targets of $5M-$12M through consultative selling of marketing strategy and
transformation services; Develop and maintain C-level relationships with CMOs, heads of retail
banking, heads of lending, Chief Compliance Officers, and other senior executives at target
financial institutions; Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams of Account Executives, strategists,
creatives, and data analysts to drive successful opportunity pursuit; Lead proposal development,
pitch presentations, and contract negotiations for complex, multi-million dollar marketing
engagements; Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts to maximize
client lifetime value; Position the firm as the premier marketing strategy partner for mid-market
banks and credit unions. (75%)
Engagement Delivery & Leadership: Serve as the expert lead on campaign strategy, including
audience selection, omni-channel execution, and marketing analytics; Ensure successful
implementation of marketing technology solutions and data-driven marketing capabilities;
Continuously monitor marketing performance and client satisfaction to ensure business outcomes
and long-term value realization; Drive innovation in service offerings, methodologies, and delivery
approaches; Act as trusted advisor to client executives on marketing transformation and customer
growth strategies (25%)
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
(strongly preferred)
Professional certifications in marketing, digital strategy, or financial services a plus

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 15+ years of experience in management consulting, marketing consulting, or agency
leadership roles

Demonstrated track record of success in financial services, with deep expertise in retail banking
and/or credit union sectors
Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets of $5M+ annually
Experience leading complex marketing transformation engagements for financial institutions
Track record of building and maintaining C-level client relationships
Previous experience at Big 4 consulting firms, Tier 1 consultancies, or leading marketing agencies
strongly preferred
Partner, Managing Director, Principal, or Senior Manager level experience required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Technical & Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of consumer/retail banking marketing,
including customer acquisition, retention, and growth strategies; Expertise in both traditional
(direct mail, branch marketing) and digital marketing channels; Comprehensive knowledge of
marketing technology (MarTech) and advertising technology (AdTech) solutions; Proficiency in
marketing analytics, campaign performance measurement, and ROI optimization; Understanding
of banking regulations and compliance requirements affecting marketing activities; Knowledge of
current trends in financial services marketing, including personalization, AI/ML applications, and
omnichannel strategies.
Leadership & Business Skills: Exceptional consultative selling skills with ability to identify client
needs and craft compelling value propositions; Outstanding executive presence and
communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation); Proven ability to lead and inspire high-
performing, cross-functional teams; Strong project and portfolio management capabilities;
Financial acumen to manage P&L responsibilities and drive profitable growth; Entrepreneurial
mindset with ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively.
Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into actionable
marketing strategies; Client-focused approach with commitment to delivering exceptional value;
Intellectual curiosity and passion for continuous learning; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment; Strong ethical standards and professional integrity; Cultural fit with collaborative,
results-oriented team environment.
