Clearance Required: Active SECRET Clearance
Position Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a highly experienced Editor to support the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) in the development, editing, and publication of U.S. Army doctrinal products. This role supports the Army Doctrine Development Program through editorial leadership, doctrine integration, quality assurance, and direct collaboration with doctrine writing teams across the Army enterprise.
The ideal candidate possesses strong Army doctrine familiarity, advanced editorial expertise, and experience working within Army publishing environments while ensuring doctrinal publications meet Army publishing standards, formatting requirements, and operational consistency.
Responsibilities
  • Edit Army doctrinal publications including ADPs, FMs, and ATPs
  • Ensure compliance with TRADOC and Army publishing standards
  • Review content, graphics, tables, references, and formatting for accuracy and consistency
  • Support worldwide staffing review processes and doctrine integration efforts
  • Assist with instruction during Doctrine Developer Courses (DDC)
  • Coordinate with doctrine authors, government editors, and doctrine proponents
  • Maintain version control and electronic publishing standards
  • Lead quality assurance and deliverable tracking activities
  • Support monthly reporting and COR coordination

Required Qualifications
  • Active SECRET clearance
  • Master's degree in English, History, Technical Writing, Journalism, or related field
    OR Bachelor's degree with Army doctrine editing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Army doctrine editing experience
  • Experience with Army doctrinal publications and terminology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced production environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior TRADOC, CAC, or CADD experience
  • Experience teaching or facilitating instruction
  • Familiarity with DA Pam 25-40, TR 25-36, and Army publishing workflows
  • Experience with SharePoint and collaborative staffing environments
