Job description

Portfolio Control sits within the Fund Ecosystem and is comprised of the Equity Investment Book of Record and Fund Reconciliations. The focus within Portfolio Control is ensuring operational accuracy, risk mitigation, and process excellence across Vanguard's Portfolios. The US Manager will lead the daily operations of our AZ based Analysts and support broader divisional priorities including leading through and supporting a major vendor change. It's an exciting time in PC: platforms are modernizing, processes are evolving, and our operating model is being reimagined. Responsibilities:
  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Oversees process implementation for trade operations to ensure global consistency. Consults and advises key stakeholders, acts as subject matter and technical expert, identifies and resolves complex operational issues. Leads internal control framework improvements and formulates strategic recommendations.
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates external events and regulatory changes that impact team. Oversees various control standards to ensure compliance.
  • Oversees performance of the service model for the team and drives improvements of financial and performance management and forecast reports. Proactively anticipates portfolio events and leads process enhancement initiatives. Performs root cause analysis and applies findings to global process improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to support global operations. Leverages strong industry knowledge to support relationship management
  • Assists the global process owner in the creation of workflow procedures and maintains comprehensive documentation of current policies and procedures. Ensures the team operates according to established procedures.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years' related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
  • Middle Office Operations knowledge preferred.
  • Fixed Income knowledge preferred
