Psychiatrist – Behavioral Health

Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Psychiatrist to join our growing Behavioral Health team supporting BMC Brighton and BMC South. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice in a mission-driven academic health system while delivering high-quality psychiatric care across outpatient, primary care, and emergency department settings.

As a Psychiatrist with BMC Health System, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving access to behavioral healthcare across the Greater Boston community. You will also play an important role in resident and medical student education within an academic environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medication management
  • Deliver psychiatric care in outpatient behavioral health, primary care, and emergency department settings
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications while ensuring safe and effective treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in psychiatric emergency evaluations and crisis intervention services
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage rotations
  • Supervise and mentor residents and medical students
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Support continued growth of referral relationships throughout BMC Health System
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
  • Massachusetts medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary behavioral health teams preferred
