Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile HVAC Estimator to lead our preconstruction efforts. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a bid - from initial conceptual budgeting for retrofits, ground up construction to estimating complex multi-million dollar commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Estimation: Lead conceptual, schematic, and final bid-day estimates for projects up to $15 million
Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative equipment selections to maintain budget without compromising performance
Subcontractor Management: Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring complete scope coverage for trades like controls, insulation, and TAB
Project Turnover: Provide comprehensive "cradle-to-grave" briefings to project managers to ensure seamless transition from bid to execution
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of mechanical estimating experience, with a proven track record on projects exceeding $5 million
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, controls) building codes, and mechanical retrofitting
Software Proficiency: Must have experience in using estimating software like FastPIPE, FastDUCT, Trimble and Bluebeam
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent work experience in HVAC mechanical estimating
