Job Title: Architectural Project ManagerJob Description

This role offers the opportunity to serve as a Senior Project Manager leading complex architectural projects in aviation, higher education, public and civic, healthcare, and other specialized sectors. You will guide projects from initial planning through construction administration, working within a respected, locally based architecture practice. The position is ideal for a proactive and collaborative leader who enjoys managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients and consultants, and ensuring high-quality design and technical execution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural projects from early planning and conceptual design through construction administration and project closeout.
  • Provide overall project leadership, including establishing project goals, strategies, and workflows to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Manage client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact, facilitating regular communication, and ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee project schedules and budgets, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with engineering and specialty consultants, ensuring timely exchange of information and integration of their work into the architectural design.
  • Supervise and mentor project team members, delegate tasks effectively, and support their professional growth.
  • Lead and coordinate design development efforts, aligning design intent with technical requirements and client objectives.
  • Manage the production, review, and quality control of design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and presentations.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of construction documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Administer construction phase services, including responding to contractor inquiries, reviewing submittals, and participating in site observations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure consistent application of firm standards, best practices, and design quality.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, interviews, and presentations as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a related architectural degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Project Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience taking projects from initial planning through construction completion.
  • Proficiency in Revit at a strong working level (approximately 8 out of 10).
  • Experience managing projects in civic, healthcare, aviation, or higher education sectors.
  • Architecture project management experience, including schedule and budget oversight.
  • Strong design skills with the ability to coordinate and integrate design development with technical documentation.
  • Experience preparing and managing construction documents in accordance with industry standards and AIA conventions.
  • Client-facing experience, including leading meetings, presenting design concepts, and managing expectations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey design and technical information.
  • Sound technical judgment and understanding of building systems, codes, and construction processes.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Registered Architect credential is preferred.
  • Experience working with aviation, higher education, public or civic, and healthcare projects across multiple scales.
  • Familiarity with AIA agreements and industry-standard project delivery processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance design excellence with technical rigor and constructability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment

You will work in a supportive professional environment that emphasizes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and design excellence. The studio offers opportunities to work on both local and national projects across a variety of complex market sectors, providing exposure to diverse building types and project challenges. The work schedule follows a Monday-based workweek with flexible scheduling options that support work–life balance. You will use Revit as a primary production and coordination tool, along with standard architectural and office software, while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, and consultants.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
