Job description

Our client is seeking a Blood Bank Supervisor to oversee day-to-day blood bank operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be comfortable interfacing directly with medical staff. This is an onsite position based in Westchester County, NY.
Starting at $120,000/year.
Blood Bank Supervisor's Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee daily operations of the blood bank, including staffing, workflow, and quality control
  • Ensure compliance with NY State and CAP regulations and operating standards
  • Serve as a point of contact between the blood bank and medical staff on testing, results, and case-specific needs
  • Review and approve blood bank testing procedures, documentation, and records
  • Support staff training, competency assessments, and ongoing professional development
  • Monitor inventory, supply levels, and equipment maintenance for the blood bank
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Blood Bank Supervisor's Qualifications and Skills:
  • 4-year degree with ASCP certification and active NYSED licensure
  • 3-5 years of relevant blood bank experience
  • Blood Bank specialty (SBB) preferred; 5+ years of blood bank experience acceptable in lieu of specialty certification
  • Strong working knowledge of NY State and CAP regulations and operating standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively across clinical and laboratory teams
