DESCRIPTION
Madison District Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Special Education Teacher to serve children ages birth to three years who qualify for Michigan Mandatory Special Education under an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Services are provided in accordance with Michigan Administrative Rule 340.1862, which defines a delivery model rather than a separate special education program. Instruction and support are delivered in a variety of natural environments, such as the home, childcare settings, and community locations, based on each pupil's individual needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with approval in Early Childhood Special Education (ZS) or endorsement appropriate for infants and toddlers.
  • Knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rule 340.1862 and early intervention service models.
  • Experience working with families and young children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to home and community settings within the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide special education services as specified in each child's IFSP.
