Position Responsibilities

  • Creates, develops, and manages the BIM model and drawings for structural engineering components of projects with direction from Structural Engineers.

  • Contributes to BIM model management.

  • Organizes or processes and distributes drawings, models or other project deliverables, as required.

  • Guides Junior BIM technologists to develop structural engineering BIM and drawing deliverables.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve upon deliverables.

  • Collaborates with engineers on updating and managing data in Revit model and schedules (as well as between external data sources and Revit).

  • Develops and implements firmwide standards relating to BIM workflow and management and drawing graphic standards.

  • Develops and delivers CAD drawing as required. May be asked to work in AutoCAD or other legacy drawing platforms (but not typically).

  • Reliably handles workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with regular interaction and direction from project leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or two years of college training or equivalent.

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional experience in BIM systems such as Revit to document structural information for large building projects.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and consistency in model-building, data-organization, and drawing set-up with a graphical style that is clear, consistent and artful.

  • Exhibits initiative, problem solving with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a task-specific level.

  • Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate means.

  • Understanding of structural engineering concepts and terms.

  • Knowledge of structural building systems and details (e.g., reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber).

  • Demonstrated abilities and knowledge in Revit Structure.

  • Demonstrated abilities and knowledge of CAD systems.

  • Experience with Tekla Structures, Navisworks, Rhino, Grasshopper, a plus.

  • Knowledge of Dynamo scripting inside of Revit is a plus.
