Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and permits to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Manage the distribution of contract documents to field managers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead the submittal process — coordinate with vendors, create and track logs, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Spearhead procurement efforts, including issuing purchase orders, buy-outs, and tracking delivery schedules.
  • Develop, issue, and manage subcontractor contracts and pay applications.
  • Generate, review, and track RFIs (Requests for Information) to maintain project clarity and progress.
  • Coordinate communication with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
  • Track daily project documentation, including timesheets, correspondence, and progress reports.
  • Manage and process change orders, ensuring scope and cost adjustments are properly documented.
  • Lead or attend project progress meetings, maintaining an updated calendar of events and deliverables.
  • Oversee close-out procedures, including as-builts, punch lists, O&M data, warranty letters, and attic stock.
  • Provide mentorship and training to project staff, ensuring consistent team development.
  • Monitor and manage job costs, budgets, and financial performance of projects.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of mechanical and plumbing project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial construction.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Spanish bilingual skills a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to regularly visit jobsites and navigate active construction environments safely.
  • Must meet physical requirements for site work, including walking uneven terrain, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
