Curate/Assistant to the Rector Position
Grace Reformed Episcopal Church (gracerec.com) is seeking a diaconal or priestly curate or assistant priest to join our parish. While we know that no single candidate will fulfill every responsibility outlined below, we are seeking a man whose gifting and experience align with many of these needs.
The best candidate will love Jesus and His Word, be deeply formed in the Anglican tradition (or clearly moving toward it), have a lively faith, and demonstrate a character of humility, teachability, and flexibility. This position offers opportunity for growth, including the potential for church planting, while requiring faithful attention to the regular clerical needs of an urban parish.
Grace is a small parish (50-65 ASA) located just south of Philadelphia. We are an urban parish with an ethnically mixed congregation seeking to be a Christlike witness to our neighbors. Our parish is part of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic of the Reformed Episcopal Church. Our church is in a lower economic neighborhood, so we often engage with issues like addictions, single parent households, immigration, and poverty. We worship according to the traditional Anglican formularies (1928/1662), and we strive to order our parish life around "the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer" (Acts 2:42).
