Seafood Market Associate Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Seafood Market Associate to join our team. This position involves assisting customers, stocking and maintaining seafood displays, preparing fresh fish products, and operating the register. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, maintains high sanitation standards, and provides excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Stock shelves, coolers, and seafood displays with fresh products

  • Portion fresh fish and seafood

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and displays

  • Assist customers with product selection, questions, and special requests

  • Complete customer transactions using a cash register or point-of-sale system

  • Monitor product freshness and rotate inventory appropriately

  • Receive and organize deliveries

  • Follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures

  • Help maintain an attractive and organized market environment

Qualifications
  • Previous seafood, grocery, retail, or food service experience preferred

  • Ability to safely use knives and seafood preparation equipment

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
