Accounting Assistant - Healthcare FinanceΒ 

PartTimeΒ 
Pay rate: Β $20.00 per hour

Freedom Village is seeking a detailorientedΒ Accounting AssistantΒ with experience inΒ healthcare billing and financial processesΒ to support our accounting team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and familiar with billing, payer systems, and financial documentation in a healthcare environment.Β 

Key ResponsibilitiesΒ 

  • Assist withΒ accounts payable and accounts receivable, including healthcarerelated transactions and long-term care related transactionsΒ 
  • SupportΒ medical billing processes, including invoicing, payment posting, and adjustmentsΒ 
  • Review and reconcile patient billing, insurance payments, and explanations of benefits (EOBs)Β 
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial and billing data in accounting and practice management systemsΒ 
  • Reconcile bank statements and selected general ledger accountsΒ 
  • Assist with monthend close activitiesΒ 
  • Prepare and organize invoices, patient billing records, and supporting documentationΒ 
  • Support payroll preparation and employee expense reporting as neededΒ 
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records in compliance with healthcare regulationsΒ 
  • Respond to internal billing or accounting inquiriesΒ 
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assignedΒ 

Required QualificationsΒ 

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)Β 
  • Experience with healthcare billing, medical billing, or revenue cycle processesΒ 
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)Β 
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentialityΒ 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or billing softwareΒ 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesΒ 

Preferred QualificationsΒ 

  • 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in aΒ healthcare settingΒ 
  • Familiarity with insurance billing, Medicare/Medicaid, and thirdparty payersΒ 
  • Experience with systems such as PointClickCare,C3Linc, Richter, or similar healthcare billing platformsΒ 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance related to financial and billing informationΒ 
  • Currently pursuing or planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare ManagementΒ
