What You'll Do
As an Aquatic Educator, you'll inspire confidence while teaching essential water safety and swimming skills to students of all ages and abilities.
Your responsibilities include:
  • Teach engaging swim lessons for individual students and small groups
  • Teach swim lessons to children of all ages and abilities, from Babies & Me classes through advanced swim levels.
  • Safely assist, support, and position students in the water while teaching proper swimming techniques
  • Follow the Small Fish Big Fish curriculum, teaching methods, and safety standards
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment
  • Build strong relationships with students and families through exceptional customer service
  • Assist with additional operational duties as needed
What We're Looking For
We're looking for team members who are:
  • Passionate about teaching and mentoring children
  • Positive, energetic, and dependable
  • Patient, encouraging, and safety-focused
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced aquatic environment
  • Excellent communicators who enjoy working with families
Qualifications
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
  • Current Lifeguard and CPR Certification
  • 1–3 years of experience in swim instruction, education, or aquatics preferred

Availability Requirements

Applicants must be available for:
  • At least two weekdays (Monday–Wednesday): 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM
  • At least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday): 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequently squat, bend, reach, and climb
  • Lift and assist students weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Work safely in and around the water for extended periods

Work Environment

Most work is performed in an indoor swimming pool facility.
Team members should be comfortable:
  • Working in and around heated pools
  • Standing on occasionally wet or slippery surfaces
  • Working in a lively, energetic environment with elevated noise levels
  • Remaining active throughout each shift
