About the Role

Skyport is seeking a results-driven Commercial Director to lead the strategy and execution that maximizes airport commercial revenue opportunities. Reporting to the President, you will manage existing airport businesses and identify new commercial prospects. You will also help to lead strategic air service development that positions Bermuda as a world-class destination for tourism, trade, and investment.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives, aiming to accelerate growth
  • Deliver a realistic and achievable Commercial Plan based on integrated aeronautical and non-aeronautical activities, performance, and improvements
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.)
  • Prepare, procure, and administer all commercial contracts, including duty-free/duty-paid and specialty retail, food and beverage, office, aviation services, and other space rentals, parking, advertising, and property development.
  • Confirm Accountable Manager approval for all contracts affecting aerodrome certification, safety, and security
  • Understand existing customers' needs and ensure they are consistently met
  • Acquire new customers and manage relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Engage and motivate key stakeholder groups to collaborate on focused strategic air service development and marketing of Bermuda as a destination.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Support the setting of financial targets, and assist with budget development and monitoring
  • Oversee the planning, organization, direction, and development of the Commercial department
What You Bring
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an MSc/MA is an asset
  • Proven experience as an airport Commercial Director or in a comparable senior commercial role
  • Strong understanding of airline route development, including marketing to low-cost and legacy carriers
  • Familiarity with international commercial airport management best practices and KPI benchmarks
  • Demonstrated success in sales and/or marketing and managing key client relationships
  • In-depth knowledge of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid grounding in performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness paired with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication, networking, business development, and interpersonal abilities
