Job description

Job Title: Benefits Coordinator

Location: Houston, TX (Fully on-site)

Type: 6-week contract role

Pay: $31.00 - $33.00 / Per Hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to support the administration of employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of benefits administration experience, strong customer service skills, and experience working within HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems. Experience with Dayforce is preferred.

This role serves as a key resource for employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective administration of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave programs, and related HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, eligibility, plan changes, and benefits-related questions.
  • Coordinate new hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits records and ensure data integrity within HR systems.
  • Partner with benefit vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve benefits-related issues.
  • Process and monitor leave of absence requests and related documentation as needed.
  • Support benefits audits, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Assist with employee communications and educational materials regarding benefit programs.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related Human Resources role.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit programs, enrollment processes, and benefits administration best practices.
  • Experience working within HRIS platforms and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience with Dayforce is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting open enrollment and employee benefits communications.
  • Familiarity with leave administration and benefits compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
