The Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for the activities of the Behavioral Health Technicians in all treatment modalities within the shift. Works in conjunction with the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse and Behavioral Health Manager.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the activities of all the BHTs working in all treatment modalities during scheduled shift, works in collaboration with Charge Nurse to ensure quality patient care.
  • Providing departmental orientation to newly hired BHTs.
  • Works with Behavioral Health Manager to ensure the facilitation of competency demonstrations and testing for BHT's.
  • Works with Behavioral Health Manager to ensure timely completion of required training for BHT's.
  • Completes inventory of all supplies needed for the unit, works closely with the Business Office Associate to reorder when needed.
  • Provides patient transportation or schedules staff for patient transportation as needed.
  • Attends shift change report along with nursing staff.
  • Attends all facility meetings as appropriate.
  • Ensures implementation of behavioral health protocols.
  • Ensures all required documentation is complete, accurate and timely to include patient checks, incident reports, and other documentation as needed.
  • Conduct shift report with Behavioral Health Manager.
  • Assist with intake procedures as needed.
  • Complete all store runs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree required in a health-related field and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in behavioral health field required OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year experience in BHT or similar patient care role required.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum four (4) years' experience as a supervisor or four (4) years' in a behavioral health field or similar patient care role required.
  • Adult Facilities: Prefer experience working with adults.
  • Children and Adolescent Facilities: Prefer experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards.
  • Agency Affiliation Counselor license as required by State (e.g. Washington)
  • Medication Technician/QMAP Certification, Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical (MA) preferred or as per state requirement.
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification
