Southern Live Oak Wellness (SLOW), LLC is an evidence-based, client-centered behavioral health organization offering PHP, Day and Evening IOP, Residential Treatment, and specialized inpatient services. We provide care across multiple levels of need in a warm, welcoming environment that meets clients where they are and empowers them to โ€œbe the great person they were always meant to be.โ€

As part of our continued growth and commitment to expanding access to specialized care, SLOW is opening S.L.O.W. Academyโ€”an 8-bed inpatient treatment center dedicated to individuals struggling with eating disorders. This program will deliver highly structured, multidisciplinary care focused on both medical stabilization and long-term recovery.


Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a vital member of the treatment team and works under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Transportation. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, care, and well-being of clients, maintaining a supportive therapeutic environment, and accurately documenting client behaviors and progress.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mental health and want to grow within the field while making a meaningful impact in clientsโ€™ lives.


Schedule
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM โ€“ 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM โ€“ 7:30 AM

Employment Type

Compensation
  • Starting at $17.00/hour
  • Compensation is negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
  • Provide direct support and supervision in a structured treatment environment
  • Assist clients with daily activities and adherence to program schedules
  • Observe and document client behaviors, mood, and progress accurately and timely
  • Support therapeutic interventions and reinforce treatment goals
  • De-escalate crisis situations using appropriate techniques and sound judgment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic milieu
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support client care

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelorโ€™s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred)
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
