Beauty product testers evaluate new cosmetics and give feedback to the product developers, manufacturers, or market researchers. In this role, you may participate in focus groups where you try new products, use them over a set period of time, and document your impressions on the color, texture, durability, as well as any other observations that would be helpful for improving the product. You then forward your opinions to your employer, which may be the developer, manufacturer, or research group. Testers are usually paid for each trial and are not employees of the company. Beauty influencers are often sent free products to test and review publicly on their websites or social media accounts.
